Parent & Carer Survey

Any parent or carer with children and young people who currently resides in Islington is invited to complete this survey.

  • This survey is anonymous (your answers won’t be associated with you/your details).
  • Your answers will help Islington Council to create the next Youth Safety Strategy 2025-2030, which aims to improve the safety for all children and young people in the borough.
  • This survey is about your child/children’s safety from your perspective.
  • All questions are optional.

We would really appreciate it if you could complete this survey, as your voice is important, it should take 15 minutes.

We recognise some of the questions are sensitive so feel free to take a break or stop if you want to.

If you have any questions about this survey or would like a follow-up conversation to discuss an issue in more detail, please contact: publichealth@islington.gov.uk

Before commencing this survey, please read the below and provide consent.

What is this survey for?

We would like to carry out a survey with young people to find out:

  • More about children and young people’s experiences of safety in Islington
  • How we can improve safety for children and young people.

Why should I do it?

Your voice is important! We value your opinions and experience.

Your participation in this survey is voluntary and you may stop at any time.

Do I have to take part?

No. It is totally up to you whether you want to take part. If you do take part, it is also up to you what you tell us. You don’t have to answer any questions you don’t want to.

What happens to my answers?

We will protect your answers and we will not be able to connect your responses with any information that identifies you.

We will store the information in our password protected file on our secure database.

Your data will be processed under Article 6(1)(e) of the UK GDPR (performance of a task carried out in the public interest) and, where applicable, Article 9(2)(g) (processing special category data for reasons of substantial public interest). For more details on how your data is used and your rights, please refer to the Let’s Talk Islington Privacy Notice and the Islington Council Privacy Notice.

What happens next

We will collect results from the survey. The final Youth Safety Strategy for 2025-2030 will be made publicly available at the end of 2025.
