Islington Council provides a food waste recycling service to blocks and estates where there is room to accommodate a communal food waste recycling bin.
Residents put their food waste into their small kitchen caddy which they line with a compostable liner and/or newspaper. Every two to three days it is emptied into the outside communal food waste recycling bin. The food waste goes to an anaerobic digestion facility where it creates electricity and is also turned into fertiliser.
We would like to hear what you think about the service.
