Highbury Crescent Closed Road Improvements – User Survey, Winter 2023
As part of its efforts to tackle the climate emergency and create a more sustainable future, the council launched Islington Greener Together in March 2022. The programme allows residents, businesses and community groups to help shape a more environmentally friendly future by bringing their green ideas to life. In partnership with Islington Clean Air Parents funding was awarded to the closed section to traffic of Highbury Crescent. The aim of the project is to deliver in partnership with Islington Clean Air Parents, residents and local stakeholders, community-led improvements that enhance the area’s existing character and maximises the use of the street.
The improvements that we are hoping to make to the area, include:
promoting a safer environment for children, families and all users of the Fields
enhance walking and cycling
increase urban greening
enhance amenities on offer, such as play, leisure and seating
Please see the engagement material and concept designs in the widget section of the page.
