Junction Road safety improvements
Consultation on Junction Road safety improvement proposals
Islington Council is proposing safety improvement proposals on Junction Road (at the junctions of Vorley Road, Bredgar Road, Brookside Road and Bickerton Road).
A key aim of these proposals is to reduce road danger within the local environment to make it safer for all road users. This is part of our wider aim to reduce road collisions and incidents to make Islington's roads safer as we work towards the Mayor's Vision Zero for London strategy and Islington's Transport Strategy (2020-2041).
Our plans include:
- Widening the pavement on Brookside Road by the junction with Junction Road to make the crossing distance shorter for people walking and wheeling and reduce vehicle speeds turning in and out of the junction
- Resurfacing the pavement on Junction Road (junction with Bredgar Road) and providing more greening in the area, with new green beds and planters
- Proposed parking changes on Junction Road
Plans of our Brookside Road and Bredgar Road proposals are shown below on this page, and you can also download all proposals under the Documents menu.
