Park View Estate

As well as building 38 new homes around the Park View Estate, we are making some changes to improve the landscaping to make it a greener, healthier and more pleasant environment for our residents. We would like to present to you the final site plan and residents landscape report showing the future elements of the Park View Estate landscape.

Landscape Design Updates

Following the resident walkaround which took place on 23 May 2023, we translated participants’ ideas and priorities into updates to the estate's landscaping designs. You are welcome to explore the final site plan and residents landscape report - they are also attached in the Documents section of this page.

There are plenty of benefits the future landscaping will bring to the residents of Park View estate, which include:

  • Biodiverse planting and greening spaces across the estate
  • Community spaces and opportunity for food growing
  • Planters and outdoor seating
  • New trees
  • New washing lines
  • Secured cycle storage for residents
  • Informal play, such as stepping stones
  • Traditional play features, such as a swing and climbing frames
  • Other biodiversity features, such as bug hotels and bird boxes
  • Resurfacing upgrades to paths and roads around the Estate

At the recent resident walkaround you asked us to consider….

A larger secure play area alongside the MUGA

We have been able increase the size of this play space based on this valuable feedback. This will mean a larger play surface for children and security for parents and guardians with the enclosed area.

Ideas for different play equipment

Specifically, residents asked for a slide and climbing frames. These are now included in the designs to fit the space that is available and will offer opportunities for children to play and interact.

Fruit Trees

We are happy to be able to provide a variety of fruit tree species on the estate that have been recommended by our tree specialist; these include apple, plum and pears. There are also black mulberry and wild cherry trees. Residents will be able to use and enjoy these trees and in their care promote community activities.

Opportunities for food growing

New raised planters will be introduced alongside a small community garden alongside the community space in Block A. We will work with the community to establish any new gardening initiatives that get residents involved across the estate.

Do you have any further comments?

You are welcome to use our survey which will stay open until the 10 November 2023. For anything else relating to the new homes on the Park View Estate, please use the contact details under "who's listening" to get in touch with the New Builds Team.
