Islington Council and the Thriving Neighbourhoods programme is committed to improving and transforming shared spaces on estates in Islington, with the intention of leaving a legacy that positively benefits the residents and builds on strengthening the community.

We are working in partnership with residents, to provide them with an opportunity to tell us what improvements they want to see and be actively involved in making a positive change to their communities and neighbourhoods.

Great news! We are upgrading the communal areas at Rowstock Gardens and Camden Estate rejuvenating it back into an attractive community space for all to use.

This is an opportunity for you to tell us what improvements you want to see and be actively involved in making a positive change to your community and neighbourhood. We want you to be proud of where you live and be empowered to make a positive difference.

We are looking to implement improvements that promote community cohesion, allowing people to come together and improve their mental and physical well being.

How you can get involved

All residents living on Rowstock Gardens and Camden Estate are invited to a pop up event to review ideas so far and tell us how they would like to see the estate communal spaces used in the future. We have developed initial designs following the first pop up event which we are now ready to share with residents for feedback.

How we use your feedback

You can feedback to us on designs in person at pop up events planned for February 2024 or through the survey linked to this page. All survey responses will be reviewed and incorporated into the final design proposal where possible.

Pop-up

We held two pop-up stalls in summer 2024 where residents had the opportunity to share their opinions for the spaces and talk to us about their ideas.

We have two further pop-up sessions planned for February;

VENUE: Goodinge Community Centre, 2 Goodinge Road, N7 9GZ

  • DATE 1: Thursday 20 February, 1 – 4pm
  • DATE 2: Saturday 22 February, 11am – 2pm

Current stage

Following feedback from the initial pop up event, initial designs have been developed and we are sharing them with you for your input and feedback by 11.59pm on Sunday 9 March.

Next steps

Once this engagement phase is closed we will review all feedback and revise the design to capture what you told us as much as possible. Once we have a final design ready to share we will write to you again inviting you to another event.
