About the project
Islington Council is committed to making recycling as easy and convenient as possible for our residents on estates. We believe recycling facilities on Shelley Court estate don't offer you enough recycling points or enough capacity for you to recycle everything that you can.
We have developed proposals for improving recycling facilities across the estate and welcome your views on these proposals. These proposals have been developed in partnership with your local housing officers and caretakers following a number of site visits. The improvement proposals include:
Increased number of recycling bins on selected blocks to ensure there is always enough room for recycling.
Creation of new and convenient to get to recycling areas.
Co-location of recycling, food waste and refuse bins.
Improved signs with more information for residents.
Improvement works will be fully funded and delivered in this year's round of the Thriving Neighbourhoods Estate Investment Programme and will not be recharged to residents.
Get involved
We want to hear from you. Please take a few moments to review the proposals in the 'Supporting Documents' section. You can also review the proposals by clicking here.
Please take a minute to complete the quick poll below. This will help us understand your views about creating a new recycling point at Shelley Court 1-14 and assist us to get these recycling improvement proposals right.
This consultation will be open to contributions until Wednesday 4 October 2023.
