Islington Greener Together

Islington Council launched Round Two of the Islington Greener Together programme in February 2024, inviting residents, businesses, and community groups—with support from their neighbours—to submit ideas to green publicly accessible spaces in their neighbourhoods. With the support of the council, local people can bring their ideas to life and make their streets greener. One of these streets is Wharfdale Road, where local people have told us that they would like to introduce greening.

Wharfdale Road

The Wharfdale Road site is located close to the junction with Caledonian Road, within the Caledonian Ward.

Co-design workshop

We will be holding a workshop on Wednesday 11 December 2024, from 4pm-5pm. During the workshop, attendees will work in groups and take part in a design exercise, where they can share their ideas and mark up plans to show where and what types of changes they would like to see in the area. The suggestions made will be used to help shape the initial proposal for Wharfdale Road.

If you would like to attend the workshop, please register your interest by following the link here and completing the form. You can also sign up in-person at Lewis Carroll Children's Library (N1 0ST). We will confirm your place and details of the location by email or phone; please only attend if you receive this confirmation, as spaces are limited. Priority will be given to residents and businesses within close proximity to the project.

Next steps

Following the workshop on Wednesday 11 December 2024, the suggestions made will be used to help shape the initial proposal for Wharfdale Road. Our aim is to share the initial proposal and invite feedback from local people in early 2025.
